Andrea completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at LaTrobe University, Victoria in 2005. Since then, she has followed her interest in Women’s Health, completing her Postgraduate Certificate in Continence and Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy in 2008 at the University of Melbourne.

Her experience in Women’s Health has included clinical work in both public and private acute hospital wards, outpatient clinics, pre and postnatal exercise classes, private practice work as well as teaching women’s health related subjects to final year students at LaTrobe University.

Andrea has had experience treating and managing pre and post-natal musculoskeletal discomforts such as back and pelvic pain, mastitis, abdominal muscle separation as well as issues involving continence and bladder problems, pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic floor dysfunctions. She has also had experience promoting active birth skills for labour, the use of TENS during labour and safe exercise programs for both pregnant and postnatal women.

Andrea is the mother of 3 children and personally understands all that pregnancy and childbirth entails; the toll on the body, the busyness of life, the mental strains etc. She has a passion for women’s health promotion and the advancement of education to women about accurate information regarding exercise and the body. Andrea says, “For too long I have seen patient after patient for various complaints, who say to me ‘I never knew about these risks’ or ‘I wish somebody had told me’. It’s time to get the good news out there, that exercise can be fun and safe, with a little guidance.”

Andrea is a physiotherapist at Focus on Women Physiotherapy on the Gold Coast after moving up from Melbourne with her family.
