Jessica Post
Postnatal Exercise Physiologist
Jessica is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist. She completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science at Griffith University in 2009 and then her Masters in Clinical Exercise Physiology from University of Queensland in 2012. Upon completion of her studies Jessica has worked in private practice helping patients with various issues including womens health, chronic pain, cardiovascular conditions and Type 2 diabetes to increase their physical activity safely and improve their health.
Jessica is also a qualified Clinical Pilates and Preglates instructor and runs pre- and post- natal pilates and exercise classes. She knows how to safely prescribe exercises during and after pregnancy to stay fit, strong and healthy. Jessica has worked with a range of clientele including women with PCOS, gestational diabetes, pregnancy related back and hip pain, pelvic floor and abdominal separation issues.
Becoming a mum in late 2016 has really helped Jessica understand the barriers faced by mums when it comes to exercise. With the sleepless nights, aches and pains, the demands of a newborn and recovering body from birth it can be hard to find the motivation and time to exercise. Add to that any other children and it seems almost impossible. However, she also knows and understands the amazing physical and mental health benefits exercise can have including increased energy, improved core strength and posture, reducing mum injuries (like back and shoulder pain), reducing PND and improving sleep quality (even if it is only for a few hours). Jessica enjoys pilates, crossfit, obstacle racing and hiking though is still getting safely back into some of these activities after having baby.
Jessica is the senior Exercise Physiologist at Physiotherapy Links on the Gold Coast.
